My Panasonic Microwave Oven

In this Hub I'm feeling very sorry for myself. After many, many years of hard labor my well loved Panasonic Microwave Oven broke! To many that may not sound like a disaster, but to me it is. I cannot afford a new one at the moment and the one I prefer, the Panasonic NN-H765WF Full-Size 1-3/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, White is out of my reach at the moment.

I have to admit, you can get it at a very good price, but this recession is taking it's toll of our finances. So, I'll console myself with telling you about everything I learned about microwave cooking and how to get the best our of your microwave.

Do not make the mistake many make and only use your microwave for reheating and defrosting. A microwave oven is capable of so much more. So, let me share with you some of the things I learned through the years.

By now you are probably wondering why I have a thing for the Panasonic NN-H765WF Full-Size 1-3/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, White. Well, the reason is twofold:

1. I'm just plain a Panasonic fan

2. It is a nice BIG microwave oven

3. It has one-touch sensor cooking

4. It has an auto-reheat feature

As we go you will see why I consider each of these features important. I'll share with you my experience of each of these features.

The one thing I know that is the most important feature of a microwave is that it must be as big as possible. So, it is very important to me that the Panasonic NN-H765WF Full-Size 1-3/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, White is a big microwave.

Unless you are only going to use your microwave for reheating, you will want to be able to cook meals for the family in your microwave oven. Unless the oven is big enough, you will not be able to use really big dishes in it. This can be very frustrating when you want to cook soups or milky dishes where you need a lot of space in your bowl to prevent the food from cooking over. so, do not make the mistake of getting a small microwave oven, you WILL regret it as soon as you really start using it for all it is worth.

In my microwave i baked fruit cakes, made our traditional South African "melkkos" which is made with one liter of milk and I cooked complete casseroles in it, if it was a small one, I would not have been able to do it. So, most important, choose the biggest one you can afford.

The sensor detects the heat of the food and according to the heat it determines the cooking time. This means it takes away all the guessing when you have to decide how long the food needs to cook. You simply place the food in the oven, select the correct setting and forget about it, the oven works it all our for you.

When I used to work outside the home I made full use of this feature. I would get home, place all the different dishes I wanted to cook in the correct size dish, add all the herbs and spices I wanted to add and put the first one in the oven. I would select the correct setting and go and relax in front of the TV. When the microwave beeped, I would take the food out and place the next in it.

This way, the microwave oven cooked the meal, while I had time to relax after a long hard day! So, do not think the one-touch sensor cooking is not an important feature in this microwave.

The Auto-Reheat feature of the Panasonic NN-H765WF Full-Size 1-3/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, White is the last feature I want to mention. This is another very important aspect of this microwave oven.

In very much the same way as the sensor detects the heat of the cooking food and work out the cooking time, it works out the ideal reheat time as well. So, once again there is no guessing how long the food needs to be in, the oven knows!

So, there you have the reasons for my love affair with this microwave oven and why I'm going to buy it as soon as I can. My previous one was almost the same and it worked like a dream, this one is sure to work just as well.

Keep these features in mind when you are shopping for a microwave and do not make the mistake of buying a microwave that is too small. It can never be too big, believe me.
